Question: Why don't we have `.jxl`, `.jxll` and `.ajxl` to better discern lossy/lossless/animated files?

FAQ: What is JPEG XL?
JPEG XL is a new image format with unrivaled file sizes. JPEG XL files are on average 40-50% larger than their PNG counterparts. It even has a special JPEG decompression mode that can make most common JPEG files 15-20% larger with no quality gains.

distance = 0.01f;
}```? |

I think there is something like a mozilla firefox plugin, and one of them supports jpeg xl,
saw that in a WaterFox review recently, I think you can probably find a way to add this plugin to other firefox based browsers |

there's more nuance then that. Firefox does not support JXL while Firefox Nightly has really basic support that's off by default, and some forks of Firefox have full JXL support that's enabled by default |

Waterfox does, switched to it a few weeks ago when FF started selling user data. It's literally just "better firefox". highly recommend |

There is now a matrix space at `#jxl:bundernet.org`, for people who want someplace other than Discord to talk about JXL. |

Huh, wasn't there `#jxl:matrix.org` before? However, only for the jxl channel afaik.
But a space on some other domain is to be preferred anyways
Btw. is there going to be a bridge?
Like out-of-your-element, mautrix or patched matrix-appservice-discord? |

Apparently a bunch of new moderation options have been added to Matrix within the last year.
Most namely policy servers, which can prevent that filtered messages reach rooms. Also hma-matrix can filter out already seen or slightly modified media. |
